Sabemos que muchas familias están viviendo momentos difíciles marcados por el estrés, el miedo y la insertidumbre y creemos que el arte puede ser una herramienta poderosa para procesar emociones, compartir experiencias y sanar colectivamente. A lo largo de varios meses, estaremos ofreciendo actividades creativas para toda la familia, incluyendo:We know that many families are living difficult moments marked by stress, fear and uncertainty and we believe that art can be a powerful tool to process emotions, compare experiences and heal collectively. Throughout several months, we will be offering creative workshops for the entire family, including:

Focus on past and writing about where you came from. Participants could focus on geographical, family, or events that have shaped them. We can focus on challenges faced in the past and how participants navigated through them.

This workshop is open to parents, siblings and participants of Tu y Yo. Participants must be 15 years old and above.

Angélica Dávila has a doctorate from UIC and was diagnosed with autism as an adult. She grew up with a younger autistic sister.

Un recorrido de escritura creativa en tres partes que guía a los participantes a reflexionar sobre su pasado, comprender su presente e imaginar su futuro. Material sera presentado en ingles y español.

La improvisación fomenta creatividad, confianza, flexibilidad, construye relaciones oratoria y también puede ayudar a reducir el estrés! ¡Todas las edades e idiomas (español e inglés) son bienvenido!

This is a program for the whole family. Participate requesting songs for you or your children, listening, playing some instrument (no need to be a pro). The objective is to have a good time, de-stress, develop musical interest or possible skills in persons with disabilities, especially autism.

Grupo Salto fue fundado como organización sin fines de lucro en 2007 por padres y personal Latino de las Clínicas Familiares del Departamento de Discapacidad de la Universidad de Illinois para atender a niños autistas y sus familias quienes necesitaban servicios especializados. Hoy en día Grupo Salto continúa con esta misión como entidad independiente.

Grupo Salto was founded as a not-for-profit organization in 2007 by parents and Latino personnel of the Family Clinic Disability and Human Development Department at UIC to support autistic children and their families who required unique services. Today, Grupo Salto continues its mission as an independent entity.

Tú y Yo es un grupo de seis adultos con autismo y un hermano que se encontraron a través de Grupo Salto. Visitan escuelas y centros comunitarios, educando a diversos grupos sobre los mitos y realidades del autismo y brindando un mensaje de inclusión y acceptación de las diferencias de cada individuo.

Tú y Yo is a group of six adults with autism and one brother that found each other through Grupo Salto. They visit schools and community centers, educating diverse groups about the mythis and realities of autism and they bring a message of inclusion and acceptance of the differences of each individual.

Grupo Salto es un grupo de apoyo sin fines de lucro para familias con hijos con discapacidad, con enfoque en autismo Grupo Salto is a not-for-profit support group for families with children with disabilities, focused on autism

Sponsor support helps Grupo Salto deliver important information, provide advocacy, training, support, education, resources, socialization, and mentoring, and improve emotional health for people with special needs and their families. A portion of the proceeds will support college and university graduates with a disability to mentor others (Tú y Yo program), to provide job coaching, self-advocacy training and guidance.

El apoyo de nuestros patrocinadores permite a Grupo Salto proveer información importante, abogacía, entrenamiento, educación, recursos, socialización, y mentoría, y a mejorar la salud emocional de persona con necesidades especiales y sus familias. Parte de los fondos apoyarán a graduados de colegio y universidad con discapacidad a proveer mentoría a otros (programa Tú y Yo), proporcionar entrenamiento laboral, auto-abogacía y dirección.
